Happy 2010! We hope that you have all had a fun, restful and peaceful holiday.
We are preparing for your return and wanted to first let you know that there will be some advising and program staffing changes this spring. Angie To will be on sabbatical leave and will therefore not be teaching or advising. In the interim, Ted Morgan will be Chair of Foundations . Both Ted and Michelle will continue to be your academic advisors, so please feel free to direct your questions or concerns to either of them.
Following is a series of documents that will help you to organize yourselves as you approach your second semester in college. Click on the link and they will download to your computer.
- Foundations Workshop Schedule for the Spring Workshop Schedule
- Group Assignments (A, B, C, D) Group Assignment Roster
- Materials lists for all 4 workshops
Please look over this material very carefully as it will tell you what you will be doing, who your classmates will be and what materials you will be required to purchase before returning to campus. The second semester of Foundations is significantly different from the Fall curriculum. You will all be participating in a series of 4 workshops that are based upon the lectures and coursework you began in the fall. They are:
- Drawing
- Color
- Time
- Systems
The class has been divided into 4 equal groups of approximately 32 students each. Each group will take 2 workshops (one on Monday / Tuesday and the second on Thursday / Friday) during A block and the second set of 2 workshops will be taken during B block. You must pass all 4 workshops in order to pass the semester of Art 102 and move on to your sophomore year.
So please take the time to look it all over and get yourselves ready for a new adventure!
Safe travels back to Alfred,
Michelle, Ted, Angie
