For the first week back to Alfred we will be engaged in a textile-based project. You will have received an email from me with a list of materials to support this project.
There is also one piece of homework which will be due on Tuesday morning. For this homework, you will need to learn how to crochet. Instructions can be found through this link: learn how to crochet
You are expected to have at chain of at least 10 feet of crochet done for the start of class on tuesday.
Dear Foundations Class,
Happy New Year! I hope that everyone has had a restful holiday, time to re-connect with family and friends and a moment to just focus on refilling your well of creative energy.
Because you’ll all need lots and lots of energy for the spring semester!
Kat, Sara, Dale and I are eagerly awaiting your return. We’ve been planning with your faculty and are very excited to keep working with you in the upcoming semester.
Before you get back there are some materials we want you to gather, and I have attached some information that will tell you which of the 4 group ( A, B, C or D) you have been assigned to and which LAB classes you will be taking during A block and B block and what materials your faculty have asked for. ** in addition to new materials, everyone is required to replenish your art kits — especially cutting tools like matte knife, blue tape, pins etc….
For the first week of class, we will all be participating in a large-scale, textile-based, group project that will take place in the Harder Hall studio — there is a separate materials list for that big project.
In the meantime enjoy this last week away and see you all soon spring
