It’s that time of year… you are finishing up your coursework and soon you will be experiencing your first Foundation review! So what can you expect?
At the end of each semester you will meet individually with a team of faculty to for a personal review of the work you created this semester. We will look at your progress, discuss your artwork, applaud your successes and give you an idea of what you can do to improve next semester.
The 15 minute reviews will be held from December 5 – 9th and will take place in the Harder Hall studio. You should arrive 20 minutes before your appointed time with the required items listed below. Please take time to clean up drawings or repair any work that has been damaged. In instances where you will be bringing in photo documentation make sure they are printed in 8 1/2 x 11 color format. Photographs on cell phones are not permitted.
Here is a little update as you all head into the next 2 weeks.
1. We will not be having class as usual on Wednesday. You will have Wednesday as a catch up day to get work done for final projects, study or collect work that has been requested for final review.
2. Final review schedule will be posted in both the Harder Hall and Cohen Studios on Wednesday this week. Make sure to check this schedule for your name, time of review and location of your review. All reviews will be happening in the Harder Hall from Monday Dec. 5th to Friday Dec. 9th.
3. All work and materials belonging to students must be cleared out of the Cohen and Harder Hall studios by noon on Saturday Dec. 3rd. (* the exception are cardboard sculptures belonging to Angie’s class. These can remain in the studio until after your final reviews at which point they must be moved from the studio.) All remaining work and materials will be disposed.
4. Prof. Ted Morgan will be putting out the large drawings and graded collages from his classes out in the Harder Hall Studio on Wednesday Nov. 30th for pick up.
Have a great week!
Please join us for the final STUDIO Visits of the semester on Wednesday at 9 am in Nevins. This week we are hosting Ohio-based sculptor Malcolm Cochran. He’ll share his insightful delightful installations and public works that call attention to the details of the places and objects around us.
